Spanish cities have evolved a lot since Spain became officially a part of Europe. Before they were noteworthy mostly for art museums, historic monuments, colorful marketplaces and their charming antique tipismo.
But that is changing. Of course they still have their great museums, cathedrals and local customs and fiestas, but now they also offer the features of the other great European cities. Even some of the municipal markets have been turned into “gastro-markets,” authentic culinary experiences. Add to that their sidewalk cafes and summer terraces that go on till the wee hours, their science parks and shopping centers, and their sports facilities and spas and you have a complete urban experience, one not to be missed. What follows is a four-minute lightning sampler in timelapse video.
