Young Chefs Compete in International Flavors of Spain Cooking Competition Reply

The culmination of the ICEX Training Program in Spanish Gastronomy for young foreign chefs was an intramural cooking showdown, the fifth edition of the Flavors of Spain Cooking Competition. Eleven young chefs from the four corners of the world were given just two-and-a-half hours to create a dish that would evoke the best of their time spent in gastronomic Spain. Their activities here took them on an extensive culinary and familiarization tour all around Spain, including cities, towns and countryside, restaurants, food products and recipes from north to south: Galicia, the Basque Country, Rioja, Catalonia, and Andalusia. Some of the young chefs comment on their surprising experiences in the realm of Spanish gastronomy. But only one could win the final competition, Singapore chef, Ghee Kok Sen. Let’s watch him and his colleagues at work.
