Ernesto Sofos (Granada 1979) became a photographer to document the marvels of nature that surrounded him when he was growing up in Granada. “Photographing in Sierra Nevada and in the Cabo de Gata (Super) Natural Park was my way of expressing my worldview and my lifestyle, both to myself and to others. It became an addiction,” he confesses. Over time Ernesto departed from the typical photographer’s path, concerned with technical questions and sensational subjects. “More and more lately,” he says, “I limit myself to places and lights capable of touching one’s soul.” Ernesto’s recent trips have taken him to Greece, the Canary Islands, the North African coasts and the Alps, always in search of the poetry hidden in each place.
